Graduating with a degree from the Technion impacts positively on all your career choices and places you in the lead and well ahead of your peers. Nonetheless, college life is not only about studying. Well award of this fact, the Technion continually aims to augment student services and enrich student life beyond the time spent in classrooms, libraries, lecture halls and labs.

Basic Package

Soft Landing
The Technion invests great effort and thought in helping new students adjust to and integrate into studies and campus life. The Information Booklet that is being distributed to all incoming students as of 2009/10 contains a wide range of suggestions and explanations that will help you settle in as smoothly and straightforwardly as possible. This year the Technion has launched the “Good Beginning” program in order to improve freshmen students’ learning experiences, especially in core mathematics subjects. Another new service introduced this year notifies students about their eligibility for dormitories and financial aid scholarships immediately when they get their acceptance letter to the Technion. For any additional assistance, Ms. Naama Dror , the student welfare coordinate, will be happy to be of service during your freshman year.

Green Campus
The Technion campus Technion campus – from north , lying on the slopes of Mount Carmel, is one of the largest and most beautiful university campuses in Israel. Its various buildings sprawl across green lawns חברה על הדשא אני שוכב לי הגב and shady groves . The campus has six dormitory clusters, full of life and social activities , cultural events and sports. Between rock shows that regularly take place on the campus’ central boulevard, classical concerts in the Churchill Auditorium, performances by the Technion’s Dance Company , torah classes in the Ohel Moshe Synagogue and workouts in the sports complex , you are sure to find something to fill your leisure time. Moreover, you won’t have to leave the campus to find a post office, a bank, a medical clinic, a dental clinic, a school supply shop , a supermarket, laundromats , or access to public transport.

Housing
Aside from the campus dorms , Haifa offers a variety of housing opportunities off campus. Prices of rental apartments in Haifa are among the lowest in the country, given the size of the city. A room in an apartment with a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea runs between $150 and $200 per month. In addition, Haifa municipality is in the process of setting up high quality student dormitories in the lower city, which they intend to rent for reasonable prices. The city is also arranging direct public buses from there to the Technion and the University of Haifa.

Careers
The Technion holds regular job fairs job fairson campus in which the leading companies participate in order to recruit our students to work for them – Microsoft, Elbit, Rafael, biotechnological companies, and many other are anxious to meet you. Students who wish to work during the course of their studies should be able to find employment in one of the many companies located in the advanced technology and business park located at the southern entrance to Haifa—e.g., Netvision, Elbit, Netmanage and more regularly hire Technion students. Leisure Time and Nightlife
Whoever is on the lookout for something beyond the many activities offered on campus will discover that Haifa is a picturesque and dynamic city draped over the perennially green Carmel Mountain, facing the Mediterranean Sea , with comfortable temperatures even in summer. Haifa offers a broad range of leisure time activities, and cultural and sports events. From its many beautiful beachesbeaches , through to the scores of pubs Maidlers pub Duke Pub stretching across the top of the Carmel, down through the lively clubs found in the lower city, the hummus restaurants of Wadi Nisnus, the taverns of the Germany Colony, the Cineplex in the outlying suburbs that will soon be joined to the Technion via cable car, to the Carmel forest adjacent to the Technion, Haifa has a lot to offer.
